Mother reveals daughter had 200 stab wounds in school attack

The mother of the 16-year-old schoolgirl, Yap Shing Xuen, who was tragically stabbed to death by a schoolmate at a secondary school in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, revealed that her daughter had suffered more than 200 stab wounds. Wong Lee Ping, the mother, shared that the pathologist’s report indicated the injuries were mainly concentrated on the right side of her daughter’s torso, extending from her neck to her thigh.

Wong explained that her daughter had locked herself in a school toilet cubicle, but the suspect climbed over the cubicle and attacked her. After the attack, the suspect fled, leaving her daughter still locked inside. Wong added that her daughter had no prior relationship with the suspect and was a quiet, sports-loving student.

The family also addressed false claims circulating on social media, such as allegations that her daughter was raped and that an uncle was mistakenly identified as the killer’s father. The deceased’s stepfather, How Boon Chin, questioned why schools could limit mobile phone use but failed to prevent weapons from being brought onto school grounds. He urged people to stop spreading false information and called for answers, stressing that schools should be safe places.
