MSI denies RTX 5090 release in China amid gray-market concerns

MSI has clarified rumors regarding the GeForce RTX 5090 in China, confirming that the GPU has not been officially released in the region. The company stated that any RTX 5090 cards circulating in China were parallel imports, meaning they were originally sold in other regions and brought into China through unauthorized channels. MSI also explained that these products are not covered by their warranty or support, as they cannot guarantee their authenticity or compliance with local standards.

MSI emphasized that it follows NVIDIA’s regional authorization rules and only distributes the GeForce RTX 5090 in the Americas, Europe, and selected Asia-Pacific markets. In China, MSI offers localized variants, the GeForce RTX 5090 D and D V2, which meet domestic regulations. The company warned consumers about the risks of gray-market hardware, urging them to verify product legitimacy before purchase.

MSI pledged to strengthen efforts to prevent unauthorized distribution and enhance the traceability of its products. The company also asked media and online communities to verify information to avoid misleading consumers.
