Myanmar workshop discusses peacebuilding efforts

The second-day workshop for the 10th anniversary of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) took place at Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday. The workshop focused on the role of political parties in conflict resolution and elections. Experts from Thailand, Malaysia, and India discussed topics like elections, governance, civilian roles, and peacebuilding processes.

Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, a member of the State Security and Peace Commission, presented gifts to the participants after the discussions. The workshop continued with two groups focusing on peacebuilding. Group 1 discussed enhancing the capacity of non-armed communities and ethnic leaders, while Group 2 focused on geo-economic opportunities and the role of businesses in national reconciliation.

The workshop will continue on 17 October.
