Namadingo builds school for Wataka children

Musician Patience Namadingo completed a 169.7 million kwacha school project in Wataka Village, Machinga, replacing tree-based classrooms with fully equipped facilities. The construction began on May 6, 2025, and finished within three months through community collaboration, and the final cost remained below initial projections due to transparent financial management.

The development includes two classroom blocks, a modern office building with staff rooms for 16 teachers, and electrical connections through ESCOM that allow evening study sessions. Hinton Eneya Banda contributed 10 million kwacha, while Henry Dyton Mkunyu donated 27 million kwacha from the United States to expand the original scope.

Bongo Worldwide, along with Baraka Charity, decorated the interiors through their Happy Classroom initiative with educational artwork. Chief Wataka praised the transformation at the completion ceremony, and Namadingo emphasized that transparent cooperation produces meaningful results for communities.
