Nat Sciver-Brunt guides England to 89-run win

England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt led her team to an 89-run victory over Sri Lanka, scoring a record-breaking 117 in the Women’s World Cup. She credited her shot selection and focus on building partnerships for the team’s recovery after early setbacks.

Named Player of the Match, Sciver-Brunt also contributed with the ball, taking two wickets. Reflecting on her innings, she said her goal was to establish a partnership and allow the incoming batters to accelerate. She praised Sri Lanka’s spinners for their disciplined bowling on a turning pitch.

Her knock helped England reach 253, and she became the player with the most centuries in Women’s World Cup history. Sophie Ecclestone’s 4-17 wrapped up Sri Lanka for 164, giving England their third consecutive win.
