Nat Sciver-Brunt’s century and Ecclestone’s four-for seal 89-run win for England

England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt’s century and two-wicket haul, backed by Sophie Ecclestone’s 4-17, led England to an 89-run victory over Sri Lanka in the Women’s World Cup at R. Premadasa Stadium on Saturday.

England remained unbeaten in the tournament, securing their third straight win and maintaining the top spot in the standings. Sciver-Brunt’s 117 anchored England’s total of 253/9, despite early wickets and a strong Sri Lankan bowling performance, particularly from Inoka Ranaweera, who took 3-33.

Chasing 254, Sri Lanka struggled and were bowled out for 164, with only Hasini Perera (35) and Harshitha Samarawickrama (33) making significant contributions. Ecclestone’s devastating spell sealed Sri Lanka’s collapse.
