Kolkata Thunderbolts beat Chennai Blitz 3-0 in PVL

Kolkata Thunderbolts defeated Chennai Blitz 15-11, 15-12, 15-13 in the Prime Volleyball League at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad, on Saturday. Jithin N was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance.

Pankaj Sharma’s early attacks and Jerome Vinith’s consistent play kept the game close, but Kolkata’s strategic targeting of Chennai’s middle zone and solid defense gave them the upper hand. Ashwal Rai earned a crucial super point with a key block, while Shrikanth’s acrobatics kept Chennai in the game.

Despite Jerome’s efforts, Kolkata’s defense, led by Jithin’s passing and Muhammed Iqbal’s blocking, remained strong, securing their second win of the season.

In the earlier match, Bengaluru Torpedoes defeated Kochi Blue Spikers 13-15, 17-15, 15-9, 15-12. Matt West was named Player of the Match. Kochi’s Abhishek CK started strong, but Bengaluru’s defense, led by Nitin Minhas’ monster block and Matthew West’s distribution, kept them in control.
