Noman Ali’s 10-wicket haul leads Pakistan to 93-run win over South Africa
Pakistan won the first Test against South Africa by 93 runs in Lahore on Wednesday, with left-arm spinner Noman Ali leading the way. Set a target of 277, South Africa were bowled out for 183 on day four, with Noman taking 4-79 in the second innings, finishing with match figures of 10-191. Noman exploited a turning pitch, and despite a 73-run stand between Dewald Brevis and Ryan Rickelton, he bowled Brevis out for a career-best 54. Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi also contributed, taking 4-33. Pakistan’s win gives them a strong start to the World Test Championship, with the second Test starting in Rawalpindi on Monday.
