BCB announces revenue-sharing model for new BPL cycle
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Media Committee Chairman Amzad Hossain announced on Wednesday that the BPL will adopt a revenue-sharing model for its new cycle and invited franchises to submit their applications for the next five years. He mentioned that November 17 is the tentative date for the BPL draft. The Expression of Interest (EOI) deadline is set for the 28th, with applicants required to submit a Tk 2 crore pay order, which will become their franchise fee for the first year. The franchise fee will increase by 15 percent annually, and teams must provide a Tk 10 crore bank guarantee.
Amzad shared that 30 percent of the net profit from media rights, ground rights, and ticket sales will be shared with franchises. Each team will also have 30 minutes of advertising space during matches. Due to scheduling conflicts, BCB plans to hold a five-team tournament. Despite competition from other leagues, Amzad remains optimistic about attracting top foreign players.
