Norwegian ambassador meets Jamaat-e-Islami chief

Norwegian Ambassador to Bangladesh, Hakon Arald Gulbrandsen, met with Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman on Wednesday at the Jamaat office in Bashundhara R/A. The meeting was friendly, with the ambassador wishing the Jamaat leader a swift recovery. Both sides discussed the importance of the upcoming national elections as a key milestone in Bangladesh’s democratic journey. Jamaat leaders expressed hope for continued Norwegian support to ensure free, fair, and credible elections, as well as for strengthening Bangladesh’s democracy. They also expressed optimism about expanding bilateral trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Bangladesh and Norway.
