Novosibirsk governor discusses ties with Min Aung Hlaing

Myanmar’s military chief met with a Russian regional leader on Wednesday to discuss expanded partnerships between the two nations. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received Novosibirsk Governor Andrey Aleksandrovich Travnikov at a meeting attended by cabinet ministers and Russian Ambassador Iskander Azizov.

The discussions centered on strengthening economic ties, educational programs, health sector collaboration, and tourism promotion linking Myanmar with the Siberian administrative region. Participants addressed prospects for cultural delegations traveling between the countries and increasing trade through product exports. Governor Travnikov briefed attendees about his observations of Myanmar’s heritage sites and traditional customs during his visit. The Russian official mentioned guidance from President Vladimir Putin supporting closer relations with the Southeast Asian nation.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Governor Travnikov exchanged presents following conversations about the upcoming democratic elections in Myanmar. The Russian delegation expressed support for the planned multi-party voting process. Both sides posed for photographs after concluding talks at military headquarters in Nay Pyi Taw.
