Radev courts Riyadh power brokers
Bulgarian President Rumen Radev concluded his visit to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday with meetings focused on expanding economic ties between the two nations. He met with the Saudi Economy and Planning Minister and Yasir Al-Rumayyan, who manages the Public Investment Fund, which holds more than $620 billion in assets.
Radev attended the Future Investment Initiative forum in Riyadh at the crown prince’s invitation. He identified numerous sectors for potential collaboration, ranging from traditional areas like trade and education to emerging fields such as innovation and scientific research. Saudi Arabia attracted nearly $32 billion in foreign investment last year, marking a 24 percent increase.
Forum data revealed that 87 percent of global investors intend to boost artificial intelligence investments over the next two years. The Middle East and Southeast Asia regions are positioned to benefit substantially from this trend. Radev emphasized that Saudi Arabia represents a vital partner for Bulgaria in the Persian Gulf region.
