Ruth Odinga thanks Uhuru for Raila burial support in Bondo

Kisumu Woman Representative Ruth Odinga thanked retired President Uhuru Kenyatta for staying with the Odinga family after the burial of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga at Opoda Farm in Bondo on Sunday. The former president visited the grave on Monday in a private tribute accompanied by Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga and other family members. Ruth Odinga praised Kenyatta for demonstrating the depth of his friendship with the family through his continued presence after the state funeral and private interment ended.

President William Ruto honored Raila posthumously with the Chief of the Order of the Golden Heart at Mashujaa Day celebrations on Monday in Kitui. The state funeral at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology drew national and international dignitaries before Raila was laid to rest beside his father at Opoda Farm. Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo attended the ceremony alongside Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
