Sacheva says budget talks set for next week
Bulgaria’s governing coalition plans to convene the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation during the coming week to address employer concerns about the 2026 fiscal framework, according to lawmaker Denitsa Sacheva from the GERB-SDF parliamentary group. She indicated on Friday that the spending plan implements compensation provisions from legislation approved during the previous four years and cannot accommodate revisions to social security contributions or dividend taxation due to revenue requirements.
Sacheva invited alternative funding proposals while noting that critics have offered only opposition without constructive solutions. Employer organizations boycotted the most recent tripartite council session and rejected budget parameters before the government scheduled another meeting for November 13.
The deputy emphasized that wage and benefit calculations follow existing statutory minimums, acknowledging the challenging environment surrounding budget approval.
