Salahuddin to resign as Bangladesh assistant coach
Mohammad Salahuddin plans to step down from his position as senior assistant coach for the Bangladesh cricket squad due to private matters, according to reports confirmed late on Tuesday. His departure will follow the national team’s home matches against Ireland despite a contract extending through November 2027.
The coach is expected to deliver his formal resignation letter on Wednesday. Salahuddin returned to the Bangladesh Cricket Board last November after previously serving from 2006 through 2010 in assistant and fielding coach roles. He later held a specialist position at the BCB National Cricket Academy before accepting Singapore’s head coaching job in 2014 for the ICC World Cricket League Division 4 competition.
Salahuddin holds ACC and Cricket Australia Level 3 certification and brings approximately two decades of experience to his work. His achievements include multiple championship titles across both the Bangladesh Premier League and the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League competitions. The veteran coach is regarded as among the most accomplished domestic coaching figures the country has produced.
