Shibir-backed Zahid wins Rajshahi University VP election
In the Rajshahi University student elections, Mostakur Rahman Zahid, backed by the Shibir-supported Combined Students’ Alliance, has been unofficially declared vice president with 12,687 votes, far ahead of his rival Sheikh Nur Uddin Abir from the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, who secured 3,397 votes.
In the general secretary race, Salahuddin Ammar from the Anti-Dominance Alliance won with 11,497 votes, beating Fazle Rabbi Md Fahim Reza from the Shibir-backed panel, who got 5,727 votes.
For assistant general secretary, SM Salman Sabbir, also supported by Shibir, won with 6,975 votes, defeating Jahin Biswas Esha from the JCD-supported panel, who received 5,951 votes.
The results were announced early Friday by Prof Setaur Rahman, but official confirmation is still pending.
