Sofia opens unique science and art museum with 100+ exhibits
A hands-on science museum has opened its doors in central Sofia, featuring more than 100 exhibits spread across 500 square meters, where visitors can explore physics, robotics and optical phenomena through direct interaction. Miryan Kostadinov, recognized from his X Factor appearances, founded the facility to demonstrate that scientific principles extend beyond classroom instruction and textbooks. The space encourages tactile learning without traditional museum restrictions.
Guests can manipulate lightning displays, issue commands to robotic dogs and investigate plasma, which Kostadinov describes as comprising 99.9 percent of universal matter despite appearing on Earth primarily as aurora borealis and electrical discharges. High-voltage equipment allows people to physically contact illuminated plasma effects. The facility targets young audiences while engaging adult visitors through experimental stations that illustrate aggregate states of matter and other physical concepts.
Kostadinov aims to inspire curiosity about scientific fields and their significance for human advancement. The museum represents fulfillment of a longstanding family aspiration to make technical subjects accessible through experiential methods rather than passive observation.
