South Korea’s cosmetic exports hit record high
South Korea’s cosmetic exports reached a record high in the first nine months of the year. Exports totaled $8.52 billion, a 15.4 percent increase from last year. In the third quarter, exports were $3 billion, up 17.6 percent. The United States was the top market, followed by China and Japan.
Korean cosmetics were sold in 205 countries, the highest ever. Skin care products made up 41.7 percent of exports, while other cosmetics like sunscreen and anti-aging products accounted for 25.5 percent. Color cosmetics made up 1.4 percent.
In August, South Korea’s money supply grew by 1.3 percent, the biggest increase in 17 months.
