Subhash Ghai announces SGM Studio launch
Mukta Arts marked its 47th anniversary on Friday with the launch of SGM Studio, a division dedicated to animation and gaming production. Filmmaker Subhash Ghai established the company on Oct. 24, 1978, with Karz as its debut film featuring Rishi Kapoor and Tina Munim. The new studio will operate from Mukta House at Film City, Mumbai, and represents the latest expansion for the entertainment company. Ghai requested support for the division as it enters the animation and gaming sectors.
The director recently mourned the death of actor Asrani, his former classmate at the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune. Ghai praised Asrani as the top student in their 1965 acting class and acknowledged his work across 375 films. He described the comedian as dedicated to his craft and expressed condolences through social media. The filmmaker reflected on their shared history at the institute where they studied together six decades ago.
