Taijul equals Shakib, eyes more Test wickets

Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam expressed a confident ambition to take 700 Test wickets after matching Shakib Al Hasan’s record of 246 wickets for Bangladesh. He stated that performance alone dictates a player’s recognition, adding that he is discussed because he currently delivers results.

While often compared to Shakib, Taijul believes he has now established his own distinct standing. He acknowledged the team culture created by senior players like Shakib, Mushfiqur Rahman, Tamim Iqbal, and Mahmudullah Riyad, noting that their legacy greatly benefits the squad and its younger members.
