Tamil Paiyan Hindi Ponnu gets date

Director Sameer Ali Khan announced on Thursday that his romantic comedy Tamil Paiyan Hindi Ponnu will arrive in theaters worldwide on Jan. 9. Khan directs, produces and stars in the production alongside Aadukalam Naren, Brahmaji, Sonia Bose and Kumki Asvin. The cast completed principal photography and post-production work continues.

Khan described the story as a vibrant romance between a Tamil boy and a Hindi girl from contrasting backgrounds who navigate cultural differences. The filmmaker chose to release the picture exclusively in Tamil rather than multiple languages. A Kumaran handles cinematography while Venkatramanan edits the feature. Madhan Karky wrote lyrics for the soundtrack. Filming took place in Chennai, Coimbatore and Puducherry. Khan produces through his Super Star Films banner. The project marks his second film following his debut in Kadhal Mattum Vena.
