Trakia traffic snarls as repairs drag on
Highway crews will close lanes on the Trakia motorway in the Pazardzhik region on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for emergency pavement work. Repairs will affect two sections near the 70th and 76th kilometer markers in the Sofia-bound direction, forcing vehicles into overtaking lanes while workers fix active travel lanes.
The Road Infrastructure Agency began barrier system repairs at the 105th kilometer on Friday. Both directions face overtaking lane restrictions throughout the project, with motorists redirected to active and emergency lanes. Officials urge drivers to follow posted speed limits and avoid dangerous passing maneuvers that threaten other road users.
