Trump eyes Putin meeting to end Russia-Ukraine war
On Thursday, former US President Donald Trump restarted efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war, announcing he will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Ahead of a meeting with Ukraine’s President Zelensky, Trump shared that he had a positive phone conversation with Putin, which he called “great progress.” He also mentioned plans to discuss the call with Zelensky.
Trump’s team, led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, will meet with Russian officials next week. Trump hopes to meet Putin in Budapest to try to end the war.
