Trump threatens to eradicate Hamas over ceasefire breach

President Donald Trump warned on Monday that the United States would destroy Hamas if the militant group fails to comply with its ceasefire arrangement with Israel. Trump told reporters at the White House that Hamas would receive a limited time to honor the agreement before potential military intervention. The president stated that Hamas must behave properly or face eradication through swift and violent action.

Israel and Hamas reached a ceasefire under Trump’s 20-point peace plan in early October, but the truce fractured on Sunday when Palestinian militants killed two Israeli soldiers. Israeli airstrikes responded by killing at least 28 people in Gaza before both sides recommitted to the ceasefire terms. Internal fighting in Gaza has compounded security challenges, with Hamas reportedly killing 32 men over the weekend amid clashes with rival factions.
