UK MP Bob Blackman slams Bangladesh’s anti-Hindu violence

Bob Blackman, leader of the UK Conservative Party and MP, raised concerns about the persecution of Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh. Speaking in the House of Commons, he highlighted that while Diwali and the Hindu New Year would be celebrated globally, these festivities would not bring joy to minorities in Bangladesh due to ongoing violence and oppression.

Blackman pointed out reports of Hindus being oppressed, killed, and their properties destroyed in Bangladesh. He urged the UK Government to take action to protect these communities. In response, Leader of the House Alan Campbell condemned the violence and affirmed the UK’s commitment to supporting religious freedom and addressing the situation in Bangladesh. Earlier this month, British lawmakers, including Blackman, called for stronger international intervention and a peaceful path to democratic elections in Bangladesh.
