University of Dar es Salaam hosts IAC meeting to boost industry ties

The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) hosted the 6th Industrial Advisory Committee (IAC) Meeting for the ICT and Media Cluster to strengthen the link between academic learning and industry practice. The event in Dar es Salaam brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and academics to foster collaboration in research, innovation, and workforce development.

Discussions focused on aligning academic programs with Tanzania’s digital economy needs, enhancing hands-on learning, and building stronger industry partnerships. The event concluded with MoUs between UDSM and private sector partners, along with a donation of modern ICT equipment for student training.

Prof. Zaipuna Yona emphasized the importance of the collaboration in shaping graduates into innovators and job creators. The IAC continues to bridge the gap between education and industry, helping Tanzania build a knowledge-based economy.
