Yusif Chibsah defends Otto Addo amid calls for sacking

Former Ghana international Yusif Chibsah has opposed calls to sack Otto Addo as head coach of the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Addo, who led Ghana to World Cup qualification after topping their group with 25 points, faced criticism after the team’s early exit from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Chibsah defended Addo, pointing out that he achieved the main goal of World Cup qualification. He argued that coaches should be judged on results, and Addo’s strong performance in the qualifiers, with 22 goals scored, proves his worth. Chibsah believes Addo should stay for continuity and lead Ghana to the World Cup, as he has the experience to learn from past mistakes.
