Zimbabwe youth farmers receive tractors in Mnangagwa’s empowerment drive

President Mnangagwa’s youth empowerment efforts continue to succeed, with nine young farmers in Manicaland receiving new tractors and farming tools through the Government’s agricultural mechanization program. This initiative, aimed at boosting productivity and supporting Vision 2030, provides young people with access to modern farming equipment under a soft loan arrangement.

Minister of State for Manicaland, Advocate Misheck Mugadza, highlighted that this program demonstrates the government’s commitment to empowering youth and transforming agriculture into a profitable business. ZANU-PF Manicaland youth chairman, Cde Stanley Sakupwanya, emphasized that these tractors are part of the President’s broader promise to empower young people, noting previous initiatives like the Presidential 10-Hectare Scheme.

The program offers a low-interest loan facility through Empower Bank, ensuring sustainability. Beneficiaries, including Cde Tabitha Dhlakama from Chipinge District, expressed excitement about the equipment, particularly appreciating its support for gender equality in farming. The initiative is seen as life-changing, helping young farmers increase productivity, create jobs, and contribute to Zimbabwe’s food security and economic growth.
