ZRP hunts killer after triple murder at Chegutu mine
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has launched a manhunt for a suspect involved in a triple murder at Chipato Syndicate Mine Compound in Chegutu on October 14. The suspect, identified only as “T-One,” was drinking beer with the victims, Innocent Mudonhi (21), Honest Shumbamhini (20), and Conrad Shumbamhini (25), when a violent argument broke out.
During the altercation, the suspect allegedly stabbed Mudonhi in the stomach, causing severe injuries. He then attacked Honest, stabbing him in the stomach and hand, before stabbing Conrad, leaving the knife embedded in his body. The suspect fled, leaving the victims in distress.
The victims were taken to Chegutu District Hospital, but Mudonhi died on arrival, and the others passed away the following day. This incident is part of a wider investigation into recent murders in the country, including the case of Morgen Gwazira, who is accused of axing his wife in Masvingo.
