11 KIA members surrender in PutaO return
The government has invited members of armed groups, including the PDF, to return to legal life, offering assistance and support. Eleven members of the KIA/KPF accepted the offer and rejoined the legal fold through nearby Tatmadaw bases.
They were formally received by officials and later handed over to their families in PutaO township, Kachin State. Each individual signed a pledge before reintegration.
The returnees cited rejection of violence, forced conscription, and internal abuse within armed groups. They expressed support for peace efforts and a wish to live under the law.
Authorities continue to urge others to come forward by contacting local Tatmadaw units or police. Returnees will receive support and rewards for surrendered weapons.
