32 foreign nationals arrested in Malaysia for immigration violations
Malaysian immigration authorities arrested 32 foreign nationals, including five Bangladeshis, on charges of unlawful immigration in Johor state. The raids, conducted in Johor Baru and Batu Pahat districts, targeted various locations such as food outlets, car wash centers, and residential areas. The detainees, aged 19 to 52, were arrested for offenses like lacking valid travel documents, misusing work passes, working without authorization, and overstaying. The arrests followed a week of intelligence gathering and tips from the public. All detainees are being held at the Setia Tropika Immigration Depot for further investigation.
