Afif Hossain claims hat-trick in NCL thriller

Afif Hossain Dhrubo secured the first hat-trick of the 27th National Cricket League on Sunday at Khulna Divisional Stadium as his team dominated Barishal Division. The right-arm spinner dismissed Shamsul Islam Anik, Yeasin Arafat Meshu, and Ruyel Miah with consecutive leg-before-wicket decisions in the 42nd over. He finished with six wickets for 31 runs across 10.5 overs as Barishal collapsed to 126 in their first innings after Khulna posted 313.

Barishal followed on and reached 119 for four at stumps in their second attempt, trailing by 68 runs. Iftakhar Hossain Ifti scored 40 runs while Fazle Mahmud Rabbi added 32 before Nahidul Islam claimed two wickets for Khulna. Ruyel Miah and Moin Khan each took three wickets in Khulna’s first innings. Afif previously captured seven wickets for 67 runs against Rajshahi in 2018.
