Amit Kumar recalls unforgettable live performance with father Kishore Kumar
Amit Kumar shared a memorable story about his father, Kishore Kumar, and how they entertained 25,000 people at a stadium in West Bengal in 1975. During the performance, Kishore Kumar’s throat was completely choked, but he managed to lip-sync to Amit’s vocals, ensuring the show went on. The audience supported this improvisation, and the performance continued smoothly.
Amit also recalled a funny incident where a director called his father “dark-skinned” compared to his fair-skinned uncle, Ashok Kumar. Kishore, hurt by the remark, later became a hero in the same director’s film. Amit added that Kishore had quirky conditions for meeting the director, like rolling onto the table and making a dramatic entrance.
