Anwar Ibrahim celebrates Malaysia’s racial, religious diversity at Deepavali event
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasized that Malaysia’s diverse races, religions, and cultures are strengths that should be celebrated, not questioned. He stressed that this diversity is the foundation of national unity and harmony, pointing out that children from various backgrounds can come together as one team of Malaysian students.
Speaking at the ‘Sumbangan Kasih Madani’ ceremony during Deepavali 2025 at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Poi Lam, Anwar highlighted Malaysia’s unique ability to celebrate various festivals like Aidilfitri, Chinese New Year, and Deepavali together. This, he said, symbolizes mutual respect among races and strengthens national unity.
Anwar presented contributions to representatives of 15 schools, benefiting 2,500 students in his Tambun constituency, reinforcing his message of cultural respect and unity.
