Asif Mahmud congratulates Mushfiqur on 100th Test match

Bangladesh Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain attended the second Test against Ireland at Mirpur Stadium to honor Mushfiqur Rahim, who became his nation’s first cricketer to appear in 100 Test matches. The adviser praised the veteran wicketkeeper-batter as a childhood hero whose presence at the crease provided reassurance during difficult moments for the team.

Mushfiqur remained unbeaten on 99 runs after the opening session, positioning himself to reach a personal century when play resumes. Asif Mahmud expressed confidence that the milestone player still has considerable cricket ahead and presented him with a commemorative crest following the conclusion of play.

Bangladesh Cricket Board President Aminul Islam and Grounds Committee Chairman Khaled Mashud joined the ceremony, recognizing the historic achievement.
