Ayushman Bharat benefits over 45 crore citizens
The Ayushman Bharat scheme has benefited over 45 crore citizens, according to the National Health Authority’s (NHA) annual report. The report, released at a national review meeting in Bhopal, highlighted the success of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) and Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) in strengthening India’s healthcare system.
The schemes facilitated over 9.19 crore hospital admissions, covering treatment worth Rs 1.29 lakh crore. With over 30,000 empanelled hospitals, 82% of beneficiaries are from rural areas. The ABDM also transformed digital health, with 76.5 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHA) linked to 51.3 crore health records.
The schemes have seen strong public adoption, with a 95% beneficiary satisfaction rate and 96% grievance resolution. The integration of PM-JAY with ABDM is seen as a major innovation for healthcare delivery.
