Ayushmann recalls father through Thamma

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana described an emotional connection to his late father while working on the film Thamma. Veteran actor Paresh Rawal blessed Khurrana in the movie with the phrase ‘Ayushman Bhav,’ which Khurrana’s father would say when his son touched his feet. The moment made the performer feel as though his father was offering encouragement from beyond. Khurrana’s father, astrologer Pandit P. Khurana, died on May 19, 2023.

The actor posted photographs on Friday showing family members performing a prayer ceremony and Rawal placing his hand on Khurrana’s head in blessing. He credited his relatives and moviegoers with making Thamma successful through their support. Khurrana said he might visit theaters to meet audiences and express gratitude. The horror comedy opened on Oct. 21 and features Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Rawal alongside Khurrana as the fifth entry in the Maddock series.
