BAJUS cuts Bangladesh gold price to Tk206,908 per bhori
Bangladesh’s jeweler association has reduced gold rates by approximately 1,365 taka per bhori following declining prices in the domestic market. The Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring of the Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association approved the adjustment, marking the second decrease within a week after a previous reduction of 5,447 taka per bhori.
Pure gold of 22-carat quality will sell at 17,739 taka per gram under the revised pricing structure announced by committee chairman Masudur Rahman. The rates for 21-carat, 18-carat, and traditional gold have been set at 16,932, 14,514, and 12,068 taka per gram, respectively. Silver prices remain static across all categories.
Consumers will pay a government-mandated value-added tax of five percent plus a minimum six percent fabrication fee established by the association. Gold reached its highest domestic valuation of 217,382 taka per bhori during October.
