Baloch civilians forcibly disappeared by Pakistan
Several Baloch civilians have been forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces amid a rise in extrajudicial killings, torture, and enforced disappearances in Balochistan, according to leading human rights organizations. On October 8, Khudadad Baloch, a minor student from Kech district, was abducted along with three others by Pakistani forces. Human rights bodies, including the Baloch National Movement and Baloch Voice for Justice, condemned the incident, describing it as part of a disturbing pattern of state-led intimidation and unlawful detentions.
On October 10, two overseas workers, Abdul Sattar and Muhammad Hasil, were also forcibly disappeared by the Pakistan Army in Karachi, further raising concerns about the targeting of Baloch civilians, including returnees. The human rights organizations demanded immediate action from the Pakistani government, including the release of the disappeared individuals and an impartial investigation into these abuses.
In addition, the case of Noor Jaan, a laborer abducted on September 30 in Awaran district, was also highlighted. Baloch Women Forum organizer Shalee Baloch emphasized the long-lasting trauma caused by these disappearances, which threaten the future of Baloch society.
