Bangladesh edge India in Super Over thriller

In a dramatic semifinal, Bangladesh secured its first Rising Stars Asia Cup final appearance after a tense victory over India that required a Super Over. India, needing four runs from the final delivery of the regular match to win, scored only three, tying the game.

Facing India in the Super Over, Bangladeshi pacer Ripon Mondol took two swift wickets, leaving his team to chase a single run for victory. They achieved this after an initial dismissal and a subsequent wide ball from Indian bowler Suyash Sharma.

Earlier, Bangladesh had set a challenging total, powered by opener Habibur Rahman Sohan’s 65 runs and a blistering unbeaten 48 from SM Meherob. Despite India’s strong pursuit, the Bangladeshi team maintained its composure to clinch the historic win.
