Bangladesh edge Sri Lanka in CAVA Cup thriller

Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka 3-2 at Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur on Friday to maintain their perfect record at the CAVA Cup Men’s Volleyball Championship. The hosts captured the first two sets, 25-20 and 25-21, before their opponents rallied to win the next two sets, 25-15 and 25-22. Bangladesh closed out the match by taking the fifth set 15-11 as the home crowd provided vocal support for the squad.

Turkmenistan beat Afghanistan across five sets in another close contest at the tournament. Nepal swept the Maldives in straight sets, 25-21, 25-23, and 25-18, behind strong serves and attacking play. Bangladesh and Turkmenistan each have three wins from three matches to lead the six-nation competition, which also features Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Nepal, and the Maldives.
