Bangladesh fall 0-3 to Thailand women

Bangladesh lost 3-0 to Thailand in a FIFA friendly match on Friday as the team prepared for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup. Coach Peter James Butler fielded several young players and treated the contest as a developmental opportunity rather than a competitive fixture. Thailand scored once before halftime and added two goals after the break at a university field in Bangkok. Butler questioned whether the venue met Tier 1 friendly standards due to inadequate lighting.

The coach criticized some squad members for poor attitudes and warned that he would not accept disrespectful behavior. He said players must demonstrate a proper mindset and work ethic to represent Bangladesh. Thailand ranks 53rd globally, while Bangladesh sits at 104th in FIFA women’s standings. The teams meet again on Monday, October 27, for a second friendly before Bangladesh competes in Australia next year at their first Asian Cup appearance.
