Bangladesh fall 3-0 to Thailand in return match

Bangladesh lost 3-0 to Thailand in a women’s football friendly match on Friday at Thonburi University Football Ground in Bangkok. The team conceded one goal from Orapin Waenngoen before halftime and allowed two more scores from Pattaranan Aupachai and Saowalak Pengngam after the break. Coach Peter Butler selected Ritu Porna Chakma, Tohura Khatun, and Afeida Khandaker for the contest, but could not improve on a 9-0 defeat to the same opponent 12 years earlier.

The match marked Bangladesh’s first international appearance since July, when they advanced to the AFC Asian Cup main round in Myanmar. The sides will meet again on Monday in a second friendly that the Bangladesh Football Federation plans to broadcast live. Officials have not announced which channel will carry the game.
