Bangladesh relieved to face West Indies spinners, says selector

Ahead of the three-match ODI series against the West Indies, Bangladesh Chief Selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu expressed some relief at not facing world-class spinners like Rashid Khan this time. Reflecting on the team’s recent struggles, Lipu acknowledged the disappointment of their defeat against Afghanistan and the mental toll it has taken on the players.

Lipu mentioned that the team struggled with not playing their full 50 overs during the Afghanistan match, which contributed to their frustration. He highlighted that the players are eager to recover from the loss and bounce back in the upcoming series.

Bangladesh’s squad for the series, which begins on October 18 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, has already been announced. Lipu also noted that while the team had success in T20s, their poor performance against Afghanistan had overshadowed those achievements.
