Bangladesh simplifies work permit process to attract investors

The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) held a workshop on “Work Permit and Security Clearance Process” on Wednesday in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The event aimed to simplify the process for foreign investors and professionals. Key government bodies, including the Ministry of Home Affairs, discussed how to streamline procedures. As part of the Transformative Economic Policy Programme (TEPP-II), BIDA’s executive chairman announced the launch of an online security clearance process and plans to digitalize visa fee payments. The workshop is part of ongoing efforts to improve transparency and efficiency, helping attract foreign investment and expertise.
