Bangladesh women face do-or-die kabaddi clash
A decisive Women’s Kabaddi World Cup match between Bangladesh and Thailand will determine which team advances to the semi-finals. A victory for the host nation at Mirpur’s Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium would secure its first-ever tournament medal.
Bangladesh, guided by coaches Arduzzaman Munshi and Shahnaz Parvin Maleka, aims to improve upon its fifth-place finish from 2012. The team began the tournament with strong wins over Uganda and Germany, but then lost to defending champion India. Coach Shahnaz Parvin Maleka reported that the squad is fully prepared despite some minor, non-serious injuries, with a clear match strategy developed through video analysis. She also requested the nation’s support for a positive outcome.
The Thai team also holds four points after recovering from an initial defeat to India with subsequent victories, creating a high-stakes final group match.
