Barcelona scouts eye Greenwood in Marseille win

Barcelona dispatched scouts to observe the Marseille versus Le Havre fixture in Ligue 1 as the club seeks young talent amid financial constraints and fair play regulations. The French competition remains a key pipeline for prospects that Barcelona monitors closely despite La Masia’s reputation as a premier academy. The club previously profited from French league acquisitions like Jean-Clair Todibo, who generated nearly 20 million euros after his one million euro purchase, and Samuel Umtiti arrived from Lyon for 25 million euros.

Marseille defeated Le Havre 6-2 on the day scouts watched players like Baichao and Mason Greenwood score four goals. The former Manchester United forward presents complications because of positional depth and past controversies. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also featured in the match after his successful Barcelona stint in 2021-2022, and he registered an assist for Marseille.
