Battlefield 6 PC players hit by EA app lockout, Zampella says buy on Steam

When Battlefield 6 servers opened yesterday, PC players using the EA app faced a major problem: a bug locked them out, claiming they were missing DLC content. The glitch turned into an instant meme as frustrated fans waited for a fix. EA rolled out a patch within hours, then tried to calm the storm by giving affected users 12 Hardware Boosters, 12 Career 60-Minute Boosters, and full access to a seasonal Battle Pass. Phantom Edition buyers got a Season 2 Battle Pass as well.

During the chaos, Battlefield boss Vince Zampella openly told followers on X that he was playing on Steam and even suggested people refund the game on the EA app and buy it on Steam instead—undercutting EA’s push for its own platform. It’s a bold move, but with Battlefield 6 off to a strong start and getting better reviews than Battlefield 2042, Zampella’s blunt advice might win points with players.
