Benue Assembly calls for aid to flood victims

The Benue State House of Assembly has called for assistance to victims of recent flooding in Buruku and Ushongo Local Government Areas. The House urged the Bureau of Special Projects and RAAMP to assess the damaged bridges and roads in these areas for reconstruction. It also directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to assess the flood damage and recommend interventions. The motion, co-sponsored by Hon. Abraham Zahemen Jabi and Hon. Simon Gabo, followed reports of severe flooding on October 13, 2025, which washed away bridges and damaged roads in affected communities.
