BJP hits out at Congress for insulting Kiran Shaw
The Karnataka BJP criticized Congress ministers for mocking Biocon chief Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw over her concerns about Bengaluru’s poor road infrastructure and garbage management. BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra called such comments an insult to industry leaders and the state, emphasizing that leaders like Mazumdar-Shaw should be respected for offering solutions.
Vijayendra also attacked the Congress government for failing to attract major companies to Karnataka, highlighting Google’s investment in Andhra Pradesh instead of Bengaluru. He lamented the decline of Bengaluru’s global appeal and growing unemployment among skilled youth. The controversy began after Mazumdar-Shaw’s viral post, and while Congress ministers responded, they also criticized her for not speaking out against the Union government.
